What's on in October and November?
October's highlights include:
Monday 19th Oct, 7:30pm, free admission
Our next open mic at Percy's features the amazing Si Griffiths as our guest poet.
Si is a poet, writer and community organiser living in Machynlleth. His pamphlet, Debone and Fold, forthcoming with Broken Spine Press, draws on his years as a chef to focus our complex relationships with food. He’s part of Literature Wales’ flagship development programme, Representing Wales 2024-2025.

Our next online open mic event will feature the multi award wining Ian Humphreys. Ian's latest collection, Tormentil, (Nine Arches Press) won a Royal Society of Literarture Award and was longlisted for the Laurel Prize 2024. His debut, Zebra, (Nine Arches), was nominared for the Portico Prize. His work is widely and internationally published.

Our next discussion group at The Vinyl Countdown, 15 Green End Whitchurch, will be on the poetry of John Betjeman.
Poetry In The Window 2026
September and October see Whitchurch doused with poetry in the run up to, and aftermath of, the wonderful Blackberry Fair (Sat 3 Oct).
This year there are 23 original poems by local poets displayed in 19 venues across town. Pick up a map from our stall on Blackberry Fair and follow the trail - or watch the poets read their work in situ here .
