Each year, 15 highly skilled poets from around the country contend to be crowned Poetry Whitchurch Slam champion and take home the cash prize.

The 2025 Poetry Whitchurch Slam was won by local postie Neil Curran, whose unforgettable performance had the crowd in stitches as he revealed—through verse—that he was none other than the elusive Milk Tray Man. His charm, wit, and surprise twist made for a slam-winning moment that will be talked about for years to come.
