Online Poetry Open Mic

Online Open Mics are held on the third Monday every other month from 8-9 pm.

 

They are free of charge.  Online Open Mics are held on Zoom.  They allow local poets to read alongside guest poets from around the UK and beyond.  Each open mic poet is invited to read one of their own poems.

It is fine to attend and not read.  To join email Helen at hekay1958@gmail.com. Please contact Helen if you have any access issues such as hearing difficulties.

Jan 19 2026: Christopher James will read from his latest collection The Ice Sonnets (Dithering Chaps). Christopher is a widely published poet. Successes include winning the National Poetry Competition and the Ledbury prize.

March 16 2026: Richard Skinner and Jean Atkin will be reading from their joint collection Crossing Paths published in February 2026 by Black Cat Press. Jean and Richard are both keen walkers, whose work is informed by the natural world, and the human experience of exploring it. ‘Crossing Paths’ is a book of poems about walking, place, nomenclature and nature.

May 18 2026: Poet, art critic and journalist, Rachel Spence will be reading from her amazing Emma press collection Daughter of the Sun.

Nov 16 2026: Poetry activist and multi award winning poet, Ian Humphreys has two collections, Zebra and Tormentil published to critical acclaim by Nine Arches Press.
